As a chiropractor in Denver for over a decade, I’ve tried maintain my finger on the pulse of the local natural health community. The current economy has caused us all to become more frugal. Accordingly, I ran across an interesting study that looks at the cost-effectiveness of chiropractic care vs. medical care for the treatment of low back pain and neck pain. The study was headed up by Harvard’s Niteesh Choudhry, MD, PhD and Pacific Business Group on Health medical director Arnold Milstein, MD, MPH. and attempts to shed light on the take on the often asked question: Are the covered services of chiropractors more effective and cost-effective than those of medical doctors? The answers were mixed but with a very strong tilt in the direction of chiropractic, especially if the cost of drugs are factored in. The Harvard researchers opened their report with an eye-opening statement revealing just how big this problem is- “Low back pain and neck pain are extremely common conditions that consume large amounts of health care resources. ” 26% of the population has low back pain and 14% have neck pain in a given 3 month period. Half of us with chronic low back seek chiropractic care and $85 billion a year is spent on low back pain alone. It was noted in the article that in terms of effectiveness, chiropractic is more effective than other modalities for treating low back and neck pain. I know there are Colorado chiropractors that remember a study by the government in Canada on a similar but grander scale, entitled “The Manga Report.” In agreement of the Harvard study, the Canadian study showed that there is “an overwhelming body of evidence indicating that chiropractic management of low back pain is more cost-effective than medical management.” The in depth investigation reviewed numerous studies that range from very persuasive to convincing in support of this conclusion. Landmark observations were made and Dr. Manga, PhD. stated, “a very good case can be made for making chiropractors the gatekeepers for management of low-back pain in the workers’ compensation system in Ontario.” It would seem appropriate that chiropractors in Colorado could make a difference in the economical and social impact of low back and neck pain treatment.
Who wouldn’t want quick pain relief? Sometimes pain relief can come in different forms. I had a conversation lately that I think might be of help when you’ve put too much on your plate and you’re in pain. Here’s the gist of the way the conversation went… A mother of 3 young children had issues with intense upper back and neck pain, headaches and fatigue. She just plain felt that she was in her words, ‘getting old fast.’ Being pregnant, giving birth and all the post-partum duties of being a mom are very physically demanding. The adaptations and demands on the body during and after pregnancy can create changes which can lead to pain. In this case it effected her not just physically, but hormonally and biochemically. Now throw on top of that a few other big life changes personally and professionally and you have a recipe for pain. The biggest point I helped her understand was this…For what she went through it was actually quite appropriate for her to be experiencing what she was feeling. She should be in pain. It was a natural response to how much she had been through. I told her that what can’t be overlooked is the fact that just as the moon wanes and waxes and the tides rise and fall, your body goes through cycles, sometimes in days or weeks. Sometimes months and years. What she was experiencing now was cyclical… and very natural in response to the stresses she was going through. That doesn’t mean she has to ‘tough it out’ and suffer; there was still a lot we could do for her to help shorten the cycle and get through it with minimal upset and keep it from turning into a chronic condition. Proactive health care can help shorten those cycles. For her to not view her symptoms as permanent, I think helped her more than anything. Peace of mind in the midst of turmoil. We all go through major life changes that will ultimately have an effect on our health- both body and mind. Circumstances like she went through can combine to seem insurmountable. One of the important lessons here is that the symptoms may manifest in ways you may not expect. She had changes in her blood work, mood, energy levels and even sleeping patterns-apart from just hurting all over. My advice…see the big picture, learn lessons from the pain, see blessings in the midst of crisis and most importantly realize that the consequences may be temporary. I believe it’s wise to value and respect the laws of nature and to learn our limits… and the consequences. Just as we parent our children, Mother Nature parents us. A true master is the one who listens to the inner wisdom of their soul. Listen to your symptoms for pain relief advice from within.

Looking for the best Chiropractor in the Denver area? This should help you out.

If your question is, ‘Who is the ‘best Denver chiropractor?’ The answer is only important if that person is the best chiropractor for you.

I’ve had the privilege of treating some very high profile athletes, so my name has been thrown into that best Denver chiropractor category, which is humbling but inaccurate.

There are no ‘Chiropractor Olympics.’ Health care is not a sport and its definitely not about the provider.

As a Denver chiropractor, my job as complimentary and alternative medicine practitioner (C.A.M.) to help people who are looking for the best natural approach to having less pain and a better life.

Sometimes the most important thing about being the best chiropractor for you is to recognize where my limitations may be and to steer you in the right direction.

This site has 3 main purposes and they’re all far more reaching than just striving to be the best chiropractor in Denver.

I’ll pour my heart and my head into delivering valuable information on this website. Here’s what this site is meant to do…

To serve people in the Denver Metro area who are looking for a natural way to feel better.

To be a trusted resource of useful information on natural health approaches to certain conditions, regardless of where you live.

To help fulfill my personal mission of helping as many people as I can experience less pain and a better life.

To help you decide if I’m the best chiropractor in Denver… for YOU! (In other words… get to know me here so when we do meet you feel like its not the first time.)

In 15 years of studying and practicing not only chiropractic but many disciplines within natural health care, there are certain conditions that I excel at helping and, accordingly, have a lot of passion pursuing more knowledge in.

Best Denver Chiropractor Website

I’ll be providing insight to the natural treatments of these conditions…

Fibromyalgia

Natural, science based nutrition for weight loss

Back pain, neck pain

Home back pain relief

Restless leg syndrome

Sciatica

Orthomolecular nutrition, functional medicine and neurotransmitter therapy to help with depression, fibromyalgia, sleeplessness, type 2 diabetes, obesity, hormonal imbalance, ADHD, adrenal dysfunction and adrenal burnout, migraine headaches, chronic fatigue syndrome, traumatic brain injury, anxiety and panic attacks, premenstrual and menopausal symptoms
